It has been interesting listening to the news recently and it is becoming clear that the politicians are targetting the property industry for the shortfall in revenues it is making through direct taxation.

It seems that Landlords are seen as a soft target. They are presently helping to make up for the shortage in Local Authority housing but being vilified for charging high rents for poor or sub standard accommodation.

This is my view is a distortion of the truth.

So Landlords be aware of this threat and plan your acquisition strategies accordingly. I am sure matters will settle down after the election when we will know exactly who is in power and whether they will actually be able to legislate for their proposals.
